Who am I ?

The philosophy of exoogen:
Creating functional, accessible, and inclusive art for ftm/non-binary transgender people!

Who is behind exoogen?

Maé, prosthetist, artist and ftm trans person who offers ftm/non-binary people affected by genital dysphoria prostheses to help them feel confiant.e.s with their bodies by removing (or lessening) this burden.

As someone who is affected by gender identity, I know how difficult it can be to fully experience one's gender identity when something is missing. That's why I decided to use my talents and expertise to create realistic, accessible, and functional prosthetics.

I began this journey four years ago when I realized that the socks I stuffed my underwear with would never replace the feeling of a penis. I knew that commercially available penile prostheses didn't fit me, and I'd never be physically complete unless I waved a magic wand.

After meeting a certified prosthetist from our dear queer community in 2020, we were able to test many ways of designing prostheses. She added development techniques and visions to this project that will remain at the heart of the project.

This is how Exoogen was born, from dissatisfaction comes the satisfaction of creating and reinventing oneself.

When I'm not making prosthetics, I love reading science fiction/science books, macarons and thinking about more eco-friendly alternatives for our dear planet! :)

Why use burlap bags instead of cotton to carry your prosthetics?

Compared to cotton, the production of jute uses much less water, does not require the use of fertilizers, and releases less CO2 into the environment. Its fiber is strong and resistant to moisture. As an environmentally conscious craftsman, I favor the most biodegradable and eco-friendly materials.
For temporary supply reasons, the vacuum bags used to package the prostheses are not biodegradable but will soon be replaced by a natural material.

A biodegradable cushioning packaging

Made from ma starchïs, these packing particles are 100% biodegradable, compostable, and reusable. In a sleight of hand, they dissolve naturally upon contact with water and can decompose in your garden or in nature without harming it.

Exoogen are handmade prosthetics for our trans/queer community and also a great concern to reduce the impact of plastic/polystyrene on ecosystems because we only have one planet Earth.

All packaging is sent in a padding made of these very cute little particles that will make your prosthetics feel like they are floating in a little cocoon.
